The film is finally online and ready to view!

I again want to thank everyone who helped me with this. I couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you.

Finished, Senior Show, and a Nomination

I didn’t update this blog that much during the production of this film, but I am now to announcement a little something-something.

I finished the film not too long ago, and I am more than happy with it. Not only that, but my film even got into the Animation Graduation Show here at SCAD! Starting this year the show will be juried by faculty, and they will be handing out awards after the show. Which brings us to super exciting news! Music Theory was nominated for Achievement in Sound Design!! It is a huge honor, and my sound designer completely deserves it. He went above and beyond the call of duty and created something truly wonderful. He took horrible recordings I got from Skype, cleaned them up, and made something really beautiful. My film wouldn’t be what it is without him and I am extremely grateful.

I still can’t believe all of this has happened! Words do not describe how excited I am! I started this journey a year ago, and it has been incredibly worth while. I wouldn’t take back any of it. I want to thank everyone that helped me, everyone who prayed for me, and everyone who supported me throughout this entire process. I wouldn’t have gotten it done without you. Thank you.

It is quite the rainy day today, and I’ve been working in After Effects all day long. I finished clean-up and coloring, and I’m currently working on the grand finale! I still have five more shots, and then the credits left to do.
Also, the Josh Garrels Pandora station and rain are the perfect combination.

The first scene to my film! I animated this in After Effects with narration and typography by my friend Naomi.

Interviewing Starts Today!

Yep, yep! And I am incredibly excited and nervous! These are some of the types of questions I’ll be asking:

  • What are your favorite genres/bands/songs?
  • What does music mean to you?
  • How important is music to you? To our culture?
  • How has music affected you artistically?
  • Was there a time when a song got you through something?
  • Do you think your life would be the same without music?

Summer Production Schedule

June: Interview everyone, and have all audio locked down.

July: Have a rough animatic ready to view.

August: Have a more refined animatic ready to view.

BOOSH!

Without music, life would be a mistake.
Friedrich Nietzsche

My main inspiration for my film. Hands down one of my favorite animated shorts of all time. My film will be similar to this, except not really. Mostly because I have never actually met John Lennon.
